Welcome. I am glad you are here. I am Álvaro a PhD candidate at the Research Centre for Operations Research and Statistics (ORSTAT) at KU Leuven. I run this website as a way to collect what I have been learning lately. Most of my posts are difficulties that I encountered on my way and things that I genuinely consider relevant. I document them here primarily as ‘knowledge-bunker’ for my own but feel free to take a look if you want.
I work mostly with Discrete Choice models to analyze individual preferences. I have developed two statistical software that for the estimation of Random Regret Minimization (RRM) models using Stata. The first one -randregret- that fits a variety of RRM models. Some slides about it are available if you are interested. Additionally, together with Ziyue Zhu, we extended my original program to include mixed effects to the models in the so-called mixrandregret. Additionally, I maintain a data-bank called TheDiscreteChoiceDataBank which contains discrete choice data. If you want to add your own data, please send me an email and I’ll be more than happy to add it.
Away from my keyboard, I enjoy swimming, taking pictures with my Pentax Spotmatic SP-II, and some other old CCD sensor cameras. You can find some of my pictures here. Finally, feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn
